The rally came as Fed official Waller said he favors holding rates in September, unless August inflation runs hot. Services data was strong: the ISM non-manufacturing PMI came in at 55.4, above the 54.2 estimate, though its employment component slipped to 47.8 and prices paid rose to 72.6. The Trump administration is also pushing to increase oil flow from California. In company news, Nvidia's $12.93 billion acquisition of Hugging Face drew wide coverage, extending its AI platform beyond chips, and Oracle shares are higher today for reasons the coverage does not detail.
