Tone
The S&P 500 closed flat, the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.81%, and the Dow lost 0.36%. The Russell 2000 added 0.57%. Premarket, the S&P 500 is down 0.08% and the Nasdaq 100 is down 0.24%. The debate is over AI. A Fidelity strategist called the trade "dead money", warning the $3.3 trillion buildout is inflationary with unknown returns. Cathie Wood says AI will lift real GDP growth to 7%. Nvidia, the market's key AI stock, drew reports that demand is outpacing its 70% growth forecast. Apple pitched new Macs with "no cost per token", challenging Nvidia's AI economics.
